TOUR 1 up          TOUR 01

Krakow is the place you will keep coming back to, each time to discover new objects of startling beauty.

ITINERARY: BARBICAN, Florian Gate; KAZIMIERZ - former Jewish District; WAWEL HILL - Royal Castle and Cathedral; walking via Royal Route - Grodzka Street to Old Market Square European largest Mediaeval square with the Renaissance Cloth Hall "SUKIENNICE", St MARY'S Basilica with the unique altar curved in wood in 15th c.

TOUR 1 up          TOUR 01 

• Nowa Huta - a town that was built for socialism, founded in 1949 and centered on Poland’s first integrated steelworks ;
• Former Jewish District Kazimierz,

ITINERARY: Driving from Krakow to Nowa Huta - Central Square - then to  Mogiła former village with Monastery like an example of sacral architecture preserved very close to grey blocks for inhabitiants; Entrance Gate to Mittal Steelworks formerly of the  name of Lenin; drive along divisions of Steelworks ; Rose Avenue, Folk Theatre, ARKA -Church.

We will see the district of Nowa Huta with its specific architecture from communisms days as well as Cistercians Monastery and church in Bienczyce,

Afterwards you go to former Jewish District Kazimierz with its synagogues; "coffee break"

Follow up  the Old City of Krakow with Cloth Halls - Sukiennice on the Great Market Square and St. Mary’s Basilica where the tour finishes around 1pm.

The largest Nazi concentration camp formed during World War II The Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial Museum was established in 1947 by the Polish Government on the site of the largest Nazi concentration camp, which was set up in 1940 for prisoners from Poland. From 1941 on Nazis imprisoned there people from all the countries occupied by the Third Reich. From 1942 it also became one of the biggest extermination camps for the European Jews. There is the exhibition entitled "Man Did This To Man" in the huts once used to house inmates. In recognition of its historical significance as a memorial to all who suffered and died there, in the 1979 the site of the former concetration camp in Auschwitz-Birkenau was entered on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage list.

POINT Travel's one-day excursion to Auschwitz has been devised on the basis of a guidebook (Auschwitz - A Nazi Tower of Babel) by Michal Nowak. The extended programme for your visit will give you the opportunity to see the Auschwitz Memorial Museum and also parts of the camp's surroundings, which will give you a fuller picture of the historical and symbolical reality in the concept of Auschwitz. TOUR 3 up        TOUR 03 

1,5 hours subterranean walk. Duration ca 3 hrs. Return around 1:00 - 1:30 morning tour; around 7.30 pm afternoon tour. Visitors walk down to the salt mine which is why the tour is not recommended to the elderly people who have problems with walking or those who are claustrophobic.

This point of our tourist programme and the place that we will show you is also enlisted on UNESCO List of World Cultural Heritage - one of the oldest salt mines in Europe.

Visitors may take a walk of 3 km through 3 levels in the Salt Mine down to 136 meters below ground level through chambers and passageways excavated in the 17th century. On the way visitors see underground chambers and chapels hewn out in the saltrock, statues of saints sculpted in salt, and saline lakes.

TOUR 04 up 

This tour leads us into the south-east district of Krakow - KAZIMIERZ - that was originally founded as a separate town near Krakow where, since 14th century Jews had the right to settle down. Szeroka street is a remnant of the former market square with Old Synagogue, Isaac's Synagogue and Remuh Sunagogue. You will also visit PODGoRZE district - where ghetto was established; Schindler's factory and PlASZoW - where labour camp used to be situated. NOTE: Synagogues Remuh and Isaac's are closed on Saturday and during Jewish holidays. The Old Synagogue is closed on the first Saturday and Sunday of a month.

TOUR 05 up 

In the Ojcow National Park, which covers a surface area of 1440 hectares in the Valley of the Pradnik enclosed by Pieskowa Skala cliffs, you can see virtually all of the natural components of a Jurassic landscape. Driving along a winding road (on special permission by prior reservation), we pass breathtaking Jurassic rock formations such as the "Cracovian Gate" and the "club of Hercules". We will see the ruins of Ojcow Castle and the "little church on the water". On the route along the tourist "Eagles’ Nests Trail" we visit one of Poland’s masterpieces of Renaissance palace architecture, Pieskowa Skala Castle, towers over a steep rocky crag. We visit the three-storeyed trapezoid courtyard and the castle which houses a branch of the Wawel State Art Collection. On Monday - exhibition in the castle closed.

TOUR 06 up 

LAGIEWNIKI district of Krakow is famous thanks to Saint Sister Faustyna, who lies in the church of St. Joseph, built in the 19th century. Faustyna promulgated the worship of God's Charity and painting "Jesus, I Trust You". This likeness is also placed in the church. Sister Faustyna was blessed in Lagiewniki. The church became a destination place for numerous pilgrimages. Annually, each Leading Sunday, pilgrimages from all over Europe arrive to pray in front of the miraculous likeness and Blessed Faustyna's tomb.

KALWARIA Zebrzydowska is also a destination for tourists and pilgrims. There is a famous Way of the Cross with 42 chapels illustrating the Christ's passion. Among other historic sights noteworthy are: the church and the monastery of Friars Observants, dating back to the 17th century, as well as their rich furnishing. The famous, reportedly miraculous picture of Our Lady of Kalwaria is particularly interesting. Kalwaria Zebrzydowska is entered on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

WADOWICE - a town where Pope John Paul II was born. You will visit His family house and parish church dating back to the 15th c.

TOUR 06A up 

First, you visit Lagiewniki, Kalwaria and Wadowice. A lunch break on your own - afterwards you go for Auschwitz Birkenau to visit former Concentration Camp.

Czestochowa is Poland's spiritual capital. Dating back to 14th century Jasna Gora Monastery gained its value for Poles as the place important from the historical (famous Swedish siege in 17th c.) and religious points of view. The painting of Black Madonna having the miraculous reputation.

TOUR 08 up 

The only Alpine-like mountains in this part of Europe with the highest point in Poland - the peak Rysy (2499m), with the alpine climate and the landscape showing sharp peaks overgrown with forests, broken up with by several broad valley and lakes. At the base of the Tatras - Zakopane - the tourist centre of winter sport and mountain tourism, a city showing many monuments of old wooden architecture built in the special, local style. We look in at the Museum of the Tatras, followed by a ride up the Gubalowka Mt.

TOUR 09 up 

A unique experience in Europe: a sailing trip down a racing mountain river on the wooden boat, through the breathtaking Dunajec River Gorge in the Pieniny Mountains. Castle ruins at Niedzica (13th -14th c.) and at Czorsztyn (14th - 18th c.) are viewed during the trip. The climate here is mild and the slopes are well sun-lit. We stop at Debno, a 15th c. wooden Gothic country church which has an exquisite original polychromatic wall decoration inside - a relic of unique beauty. The church is entered on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List.
